Hi friends,
My birthday is quickly approaching and nothing would make me happier than to bring in another year by helping others and have you be a part of it.
For those of you that don't know, I am a regular volunteer at Xavier Mission's Soup Kitchen here in NYC. 1.4 Million New Yorkers face hunger every year, including close to one in four NYC children.
Every Sunday at Xavier we serve up to 1900 meals and it is the largest food service in all five boroughs. To run this service, it costs about $2,500 for all these meals, averaging around $1.50 each. For $15 we could provide ten hot meals!
This is where you come in! As a bday present to me, I would love to be able to fund one entire service. I have set my goal at $2,500 but I would be thrilled to be able to serve even just one meal. It would be the best Bday gift I could ever receive and so many others would benefit more than you can imagine. No amount is too small and any penny is greatly appreciated.
