Genevieve’s Treatment Fund Update

Dear family, old friends and new ones!
In the midst of Genevieve's ongoing treatment and 2 additional surgeries over the past 6 months, Genevieve and Shannon remain positive and happy at heart, despite the fact that this is not a quick or a simple process. And everyone’s generous donations over the past year and a half have been an incredible support to them on every level.
At this time, Genevieve is dealing with some side effects from the ongoing drugs that are quite debilitating, and she is only able to work very minimally. Some recent tests are requiring additional scans and treatment, all of which are costly. For friends who aren’t familiar with the US medical system, cancer care, while excellent, is very expensive. Genevieve’s health insurance and her co-pays for covered treatments cost many thousands per year. And several key treatments - even tests that are standard in Europe - are not covered by insurance and have to be paid for out of pocket.
We ask that you continue to support this healing time for Shannon and Genevieve with your love, prayers and where possible, your financial assistance.
Our new goal is to raise an additional $7,500. This will allow Shannon and Genevieve to handle outstanding medical expenses from last year, as well as some of the new expenses for treatments and diagnostics this year.

Dear family and friends,
I am very happy to let you all know that my daughter-in-law, Genevieve, had successful reconstruction surgery for the double mastectomy. While the surgery and recovery have and will continue to require various additional medical interventions, she is progressing well. A lot of rest is needed over the coming months, as the surgeon keeps reminding her. After the stress and trauma of this year, Shannon and Genevieve are starting to be able to look beyond what has been an immediate crisis of survival to a time of real recovery and recuperation for them both. Genevieve is not able to consider work for a few more months. And we ask that you support this healing time with your love, prayers and whenever possible, your financial assistance, in order for Genevieve to be able to afford post-surgery treatments, ongoing cancer-targeted treatments and lab tests that are not covered by insurance.
Our goal is to raise the outstanding $6,000 that will allow her to actively engage in treatments through this year to check and balance her blood markers, in order to support complete remission. We are all profoundly grateful for any help you can offer at this time.
