I am raising money for my mother, Mrs. Genevieve Romine. She was a victim in a robbery on October 29, 2018. The picture you see was from a Church Appreciation Ceremony just 10 days earlier.
Mom is a beautiful and proud woman in Louisiana, who has raised 7 kids and has led many Church choirs throughout the South. She is 78 years old. On that October evening, a misguided 14 year old boy, along with some other young boys, decided they wanted her car. Mom, along with her husband Randy, went to see what was happening outside their home.The boy made a bad decision. He brought down this amazing woman who has the voice of an angel.(see above link from a local Shreveport news station) .
A bullet shattered bones in her knee. It remains lodged in her leg, due to its proximity to an artery.
This injury will prevent her from continuing her career as a professional pianist and organist, as it prevents her from operating the pedestal. Of course, financial obligations are ongoing. Currently she is in the hospital with a cast from her ankle to her thigh. I cannot speed up her recovery but work every day to help her keep her spirits up.
At this point, I am requesting help from friends to help her pay ongoing bills. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will help to get her through this challenging time. Mrs. Romine has been a "minister of music" since she was 11 yrs old.
