Genesius Guild 2022 #GivingTuesday Fundraiser

Please consider supporting us on Giving Tuesday! As the only free theater in the region, we seek to keep the classics alive - and accessible. Offering free Shakespeare and Greek theater in the park brings history to life - right here in the Quad Cities. The Genesius Guild is the only theater in the United States that produces Greek theater in mask. We are one of the dwindling number of theaters that still produce Shakespeare plays straight up, as they were written - without modernizing or otherwise changing the settings of the shows.

It would be much easier to do this if we charged admission. Producing shows is expensive. There are staff members to pay; materials to buy; tools and equipment to purchase (and to replace as they wear out); marketing expenses to spread awareness of our productions - not to mention a stage and a costume house to maintain. All theaters have these expenses, but we have the unique challenge of facing these expenses without having ticket revenue. This is intentional, though - in addition to keeping the classics alive, we strive to keep them accessible to everyone, regardless of income or background.
