Genesius Guild 2021 #GivingTuesday Fundraiser

The COVID-19 pandemic has been difficult for all nonprofit organizations, and the Genesius Guild is no different. While we were able to return to the stage with smaller productions in 2021 and continued to offer free admission for all, the last two years have still been challenging. Since we do not charge admission, we rely on the generosity of our donors, support from our volunteers, and foundation grants.
We budget very efficiently and have a strong volunteer base, but we still have costs such as:
- Paying professional staff (theater manager, costumer, director stipends)
- Intern stipends
- Stage maintenance
- Materials for props and set pieces
- Utilities, insurance, and maintenance costs for the costume house
- Increased security to deter break-ins
- Printing and mailing costs
- Marketing Genesius Guild productions
As we move toward staging a full season in 2022, we need support from our donors to help us foot these bills. It would be easier if we charged admission, but the Guild's mission is to continue making classical theater available to everyone and free admission is a fundamental part of that mission.
