Generator for Puerto Rico Family
Donation protected
I'm appealing to the humanity of my friends and family. This is my 1st time ever using this...but due to the extreme nature of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, my uncle and his family are now living in tents on the roof of their home due to the flooding. Also, there's no power in 80% of the island (its just dark both day and night). They're forced to eat out every night due to no power (which is now causing them to get sick). Even water and ice are scarce.
We've offered to bring our family here to Chicago but what they have really requested is a generator (the cost is $1900, plus tax for a Honda EU3000ie model). While I've seen cheaper models, my uncle says the local shop currently has over 80 broken generators sitting aorund, with little to no parts for non-Honda models. Therefore, a Honda generator will have the best chance for replacement parts should anything need to be replaced.
I am asking for ANY donations you can give. (Also, if you have Chase quickpay or Paypal, that would be ideal since no fees would be deducted... Again, please find it in your heart to help a family in need).
