Four years ago, Dad was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. This disease scars the lungs and hardens the air sacs. Patients with this disease usually do not live more than 5 years after the diagnosis. It has no known cause and is irreversible. However, in addition to Dad's regular doctors, Mom and Dad are working with the Lung Institute in Scottsdale, AZ, to set up a bone marrow stem cell treatment.
