What is Gems of Light?


GOL is a non-profit organization that aims to help women/girls gain Authentic
Islamic Education, Provide social services for the Community, and give Women the chance and training to benefit others in a positive way. Gems of Light focuses on Spiritual, Physical, and Emotional needs of Women within the community. Gems of Light has a Matrimonial Service (with more than 25 women volunteering to help match make) enabling sisters to facilitate marriage in a halal way. GOL currently has a licensed family therapist to provide family and marital counseling. We are hoping to have a Women’s Homeless Shelter  and a part-time clinic, Inshaa Allah. Gems of Light is committed to empowering the women of our Ummah with quality Islamic Education. Our mission is to educate dedicated and ambitious women who have the desire to thoroughly understand their Deen (religion) and share it with others. It is our goal to provide all of our students with both the knowledge and skills necessary to carry on the light of Islam by living it and teaching it in their communities. Gems of Light is a registered non-profit organization in Minnesota ( 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN# 46-4201224 Our Organization Primarily depends on your generous donations and Financial Support.  Our hope/goal is to continue providing knowledge and enlightenment to women from all different backgrounds. Our goal is to make a difference in our community in many difference areas and to eventually build a structure that can be applied to various communities/areas in the U.S. We are currently in need of a multipurpose facility in NE Minneapolis to hold year round weekly classes for Spring/Fall/Summer Semesters, meetings, events, seminars, gatherings, training, part-time clinic, amongst many many more activities within the umbrella of Gems of Light. We currently are renting a small space from a Theological Seminary, but are in need of a facility to meet the demands of our organization in all aspects, etc. Please help us by donating to our cause so we can have a permanent home/place, Insha Allah.
