 Wir möchten ehrlich mit euch sein: Das Free Tree Open Air steht nach den Ereignissen vom Samstag vor einer großen finanziellen Herausforderung.

 Am Samstagabend, dem 8. August, musste unser Festival aufgrund einer telefonischen Drohung kurzfristig geräumt werden. Rund 3.000 Menschen haben das Gelände innerhalb kürzester Zeit verlassen. Das Gelände wurde anschließend von den Einsatzkräften durchsucht und wieder freigegeben.

 Der Festivalbetrieb konnte am Sonntag zwar wie geplant weitergehen, trotzdem hat die vorzeitige Beendigung des Samstags für uns enorme finanzielle Folgen.

 Ein Festival wie das Free Tree entsteht nicht von heute auf morgen.
</div>
<div>
 Hinter diesem Wochenende stehen monatelange Vorbereitung, hunderte ehrenamtliche Helfer:innen, Künstler:innen, Technik, Infrastruktur, Personal, Mieten und unzählige weitere Kosten, die auch dann anfallen, wenn ein Festivaltag plötzlich abgebrochen werden muss.

 Wir haben uns bewusst dafür entschieden, am Sonntag weiterzumachen. Nicht nur, weil wir unser Festival lieben, sondern weil wir gemeinsam mit euch ein Zeichen setzen wollten: Das Free Tree soll weiterleben.
