Geja’s Café Staff Relief Fund
To Our Loyal Patrons and Beloved Friends,
For over 50 years, Geja’s Café has been a place of community, celebration and togetherness – and now more than ever we must join together to support one another in every way we can.
We are truly grateful for the constant outpouring of love and support shown to us by the Chicagoland community, especially during these difficult times. We are honored to serve as host to so many once-in-a-lifetime memories including countless engagement proposals, anniversaries, birthdays and more. Our staff and I take such great pride in being a part of these momentous experiences and we have come to consider our patrons as dear family and friends over the years.
Unfortunately, with the restriction of operating at 25% capacity, we have only been able to bring back 13 of our 39 employees and many members our staff are still in immediate need of our support. To help see them through this time, we have established this relief fund as a way for those able to show support for the Geja’s family.
In addition to my personal contribution made to this fund, the management team and I kindly ask that our patrons, if at all able, please show their support by joining us in contributing. 100% of proceeds from donations made will go directly to the Geja’s Café staff and are so greatly appreciated. Please share this fund if at all possible as well, as this may also have a great impact.
As we celebrate our 55th anniversary and the employees that have played a major role in its success, any patron who donates $55 to the Staff Relief Fund will be entered into a raffle where they have the chance to win a one-of-a-kind painting by Josh Moulton that pays special homage to the restaurant. Josh Moulton, son of famous artist Conrad Moulton, has been painting as his full-time career in Chicago for the past 17 years, drawing on his life experience and personal travels as inspiration for his paintings, many of which can be found throughout the city. The winner of the raffle will be chosen on Friday, August 21. Additional donations in increments of $55 will get you additional entries into the drawing. (i.e. $110/2 chances, $165/3 chances etc.)
