Michael's Medical Nightmare

Donation protected
Please help this family,  35 year old dad with 2 young daughters has been fighting for his life since september 10th  when he had gastric bypass surgery.  The surgery was supposed to involve a two day hospital stay, and an additional two week recovery period before return to work.  But, 2 days later at home he developed an abscess and  was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with double pneumonia.  The doctors there did not know how to treat his condition and after many requests from his original surgeon,  three days later, and in worse condition, he was put in another ambulance and sent back to the first hospital where he was put on  heavy antibiotics and underwent numerous surgeries in order to place stints to seal leakages into his stomach near his spleen. During the course of the next few weeks and during this entire ordeal, he has not been permitted to eat food or drink water at all.  In  total, 4 drains were placed into his body (where abscesses had formed) to help clear the infections.  In addition, repeated endoscopies  (one in which his oxygen went so low he almost died) all have taken their toll.  Then, due to  insurance, he was sent home after over a month with the 4 drains still in place, an I.V.   and instructions that a home medical nurse would come every other day to help erin with his care.  After 5 days and no relief from the  pain,  he drove himself back to  the hospital (over one hour away) and was again admitted.  After another week of antbiotics and monitoring, praying for recovery and release, he received the worst news possible,  recent testing indicates there is still a leak and another surgery may  be necessary.  Michael works in sales, and has been out of work now for almost 2 months. The stress on him and his family has  been monumental.  They desperately need money for rent and bills not knowing  if and when he may be able to recover and get back to work and a steady paycheck.   He has fought hard these last two months and many prayers have helped to keep him alive, now this family is praying and asking for help to ease some of their financial burdens.  This is a good family that does not ask easily for help and will pay it forward if possible.  Erin does not drive due to a serious accident when she was a teenager,  so Michael is alone in the hospital unable to help or see his familyand Erin is alone at home caring for their two young daughters.  This is a terrible nightmare for them for which there seems to be no easy end in site.
