Gecewicz Medical and Disaster Funds

It has been a little over a year since my parent's struggle started and they are still in negotiations with insurance companies on medical expenses and damages that have been denied so we have decided to ask for your help.
My entire life my mom has fought alongside my father to get what he needed just so he could see my little sister and I grow up. They have always put their children, their friends, family, and fellow man before their own needs. My mom always insisted on giving out meal to the hungry, working with girl scouts for about a decade or more, and was even a school crossing guard. She put out newsletters for the schools and other functions for the community at no change.
My father never looked for glory or fame although he received three major commendations; one from the N.Y.P.D., one from the N.Y.F.D. and one from the Philippeans.He was not known as a police officer but a cop; the difference is a cop carries a shield not a badge so he can protect and serve his fellow man as he has always told me. During his time of service with the NYPD he suffered from being shot, stabbed, and beaten multiple times. Along with putting his life in jeopardy two times as he entered two separate burning buildings on two separate days to rescue many people. He was also known as the kiss of life in the early 1980s when Aids came to the forefront as they did not have not equipment at the time and everything was mouth to mouth. And from his stories he succeeded to bring all but one person back while preforming CPR. He also assisted in food relief, reuniting families with their children, along with giving blood when necessary until he was forced to retire on full disability due to the numerous injuries he received when preforming these tasks. Which include a broken neck and back, an impinged shoulder, and vein problems in my legs that have turned black.
On January 17th, 2017, my father underwent his second Cervical Spine surgery to release pain and movement in his “broken” neck. This last surgery along with his other spinal cord injuries have left him dependent on a wheelchair and assistance of his wife to get dressed and do basic tasks. Thankfully after his second Cervical Spine surgery and he was granted the ability to do the minimum of 6 months of bed rest at home since my mom was able to assist him (as she always had) and then he was supposed to go for the third Cervical Spine surgery.
Less than 3 months later, on April 9, 2017, my mom, Clementina, suffered from a serious stroke on the left side of the brain. This stroke caused paralysis in her right arm and leg along with closure of her left eye which has left her confined to a bed. In addition to this she has been diagnosed with a language impairment called Aphasia and from the fall she had a broken her left arm. For proper care of my mom, she needs a nurse a minimum of three times a day and an aid around the clock; since my dad am unable to assist in anyway, due to his injuries. Due to the issues with the insurance my mom is not covered to have the necessary home care or a nurse.
To make matters harder on my father's birthday, June 13, 2017, our home suffered a watered surge destroying approximately one half of their home and not allowing the use of kitchen and certain rooms. Even though the claim was approved, and they used a company suggested by the insurance company, not a single item has been fixed but the company cause additional damage and they did not include all the damaged items in the claim.
To add to their misery, they also felt the effects of Hurricane Irma which took part of a roof, totaled a screen room, knocked down multiple trees, and part of the fence.
All of this depleted their funds, as during their hospital stays all of their credit cards were cancelled due to nobody being home to make payments.
In August of 2017, it was getting financially difficult for them to pay for an aid to be here for four hours a day when even more was needed. I then had to quit my job to help take care of my parents. I get to my parents before my mom and dad wake up and leaves after they go to sleep, about 13 hours every day. I do everything for my parents; including but not limited to baths, cooking, cleaning, anything medically necessary, and even simple daily tasks.
In my parent's time of need they were denied all and any funds by the government.
They need funds to help with roof repairs of $20,000 due to the deductible (depreciation and the deduction from the insurance hurricane rate, which for a $30,000 repair we received $3,000). They need approximately $20,000 for kitchen repairs. The additional loss for the other rooms and entry doors is another $20,000. In addition to this my parents need help with funds to help with their medical needs.
Something my parents need immediately is a van that can handle two wheelchairs now instead of one to take both my parents anywhere.
Not just in having to adjust vehicles, they also will have to remodel and adjust their home for wheelchair/handicap needs. But this van will allow my parents to go out again instead of being confided to the bedroom, as they have been for almost a year now.
