Bryce's Snowboarding Dream

Donation protected
Hi!!! My name is Bryce Devon Welch. I am an 8 year old snowboarder from Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

I am on my way to bringing home GOLD as a Freestyle Snowboarder in the 2026 Winter Olympics!!!

My mom introduced me to snowboarding at the age of 5. Ever since I was introduced to snowboarding, I wanted to do it everyday. This is a picture of my first snowboarding class at Mountain Creek in New Jersey. At the age of 6, my mom took me to the local ski resorts to get lessons. Below is a picure of me at Wisp in Deep Creek, Maryland taking a class.
That same season, we were introduced to Black SKi Club at Liberty Mountain in Pennsylvania. We met many nice people and we immediately joined their club as a family. The following month, we were asked to travel with their youth program to New Hampshire to train with Boston Ski Party's Youthfest Race Camp.  We met so many fun people and I had a blast.

As my love for snowboarding grew, my skills were developing. At the age of 7, I joined the Youth Development Snowboarding Program with Black Ski Club in Washington, DC.  At the end of my training, I was able to attend Youthfest in New Hampshire for the second year.  That year, I was placed into the intermediate group of snowboarders.  It was also my first time ever being able to go into the terrain park and go down the black diamond slopes (advanced slopes). I received a medal for most improved out of the intermediate group of snowboarders ( I was the youngest :-)).

About to go into the Terrain Park with my group.. I am the little guy with the green helmet.

This upcoming year, I will be joining Boston Ski Party's  (BSP) Youth Development Race Program at Pat's Peak in New Hampshire.  On average, the program consists of a minimun 4 hours of instruction per week; 2 hours with Pats Peak instructors and 2 hours with BSP Coaches.

The mission of BSP and National Brotherhood of Skiers is to identify, develop and support youth athletes of color who will WIN International and Olympic winter sports competitions representing the United States and United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA).
The main race that I am striving to qualify for is the
NASTAR Nature Valley Competition held in Snowmass, Colorado. This past year, BSP had 25 youth qualify for this competition and I know with your support and traning I will qualify. NASTAR is a member of United State Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), which provides opportunities for youth to participate in more competitive USSA races.

My mom has been my greatest financial supporter of local training but now that I will be travelling weekly we need your help.  I am asking for your help to raise $3500.00, this price includes: Travel Expenses (Food, Air and Hotel), NBS Membership Fees, Development and Race Fees and Snowboarding Equipment.

Please assist us by donating and supporting me to help my dreams come true. I promise to make you proud as I continue to train and compete!!!
