Illustrationsprojekt "Geburt ohne Gewalt"

[engl. below] "Gewalt" und "Geburtshilfe"... zwei Begriffe, die scheinbar unmöglich zueinander passen und dennoch ist "Gewalt in der Geburtshilfe" ein reales Problem unserer Gesellschaft... nein, nicht in irgendeinem Entwicklungsland... sondern hier bei uns in Deutschland, Europa und der restlichen industrialisierten Welt.

Bereits seit 2014 erkennt die WHO das Problem an und fordert:
„Die Prävention und Beseitigung von Respektlosigkeit und Misshandlung unter der Geburt. […] Jede Frau hat das Recht auf die bestmöglichsten Gesundheitsstandards, welche das Recht auf eine würde- und respektvolle Behandlung beinhalten.“
– WHO: The prevention and elimination of disrespect and abuse during facility-based childbirth. - 2014, S.1.[1] 2015 erschien die Erklärung auch auf Deutsch: Vermeidung und Beseitigung von Geringschätzung und Misshandlung bei Geburten in geburtshilflichen Einrichtungen.

Mir persönlich geht das Thema durch Mark und Bein. Besonders wenn ich die vielen Berichte von betroffenen Frauen und Familien lese, die jedes Jahr am 25. November - dem "Roses Revolution Day" (int. Tag gegen Gewalt in der Geburtshilfe) - über die Seite der Roses Revolution veröffentlicht und tausendfach geteilt werden.

Als Illustratorin habe ich 2019 begonnen, das Thema künstlerisch zu bearbeiten. Hauptsächlich über Instagram und meinen Blog versuche ich mit meinen Bildern und Texten unter dem Hashtag #drehtdiefrauenum aufzuklären und wachzurütteln.

Ursprünglich startete ich die GoFundMe-Kampagne, um die Teilnahme an verschiedenen nationalen und internationalen Design- und Illustratoren-Wettbewerben zu finanzieren und dadurch diesem Tabuthema seine dringend benötigte Öffentlichkeit zu verschaffen. Je nach Premierung bedeutet ein erfolgreiches Abschneiden eine große, evtl. weltweite Aufmerksamkeit für das Projekt bzw. das Thema. Bezüglich der Wettbewerbe heißt es nun Daumendrücken. Das Fundingziel von 450€ zur Finanzierung der Teilnahmegebühren haben wir am 19. Februar 2020 bereits erreicht! Großartig!!! :D
Meine Mission ist es, mit meinen Werken dazu beizutragen, das Bild von Geburt - oder anders gesagt: ihr "Image" - positiv zu verändern. Zunächst, in dem ich die "Schatten" offenlege, um schließlich dem "Licht" seinen Raum zu geben.

"Violence in childbirth" ... two terms that seem incompatibly match but it's a realistic problem of our society ... no, not in any developing country ... here in Germany, Europe and the rest of the industrialized world!
The WHO has recognized the problem since 2014 and is calling for:
“... the prevention and elimination of disrespect and abuse in childbirth. [...] Every woman has the right to the best possible health standards, which include the right to dignified and respectful treatment." [WHO: The prevention and elimination of disrespect and abuse during facility-based childbirth. - 2014, S.1.[1] ]
Personally, this issue is shaking me to the core. Especially when I read the many reports of affected women and families that are published and shared thousands of times every year on November 25th - the "Roses Revolution Day" (international day against violence in obstetrics).
As an illustrator, I started working on the topic artistically in 2019. Mainly on Instagram and my blog , I'm trying with the help of my images and texts to educate about this issue.

Originally I started the gofundme-campaign to fund my participation in various national and international design- and illustrator competitions, thereby giving this taboo-topic its much-needed publicity. Depending on the award, a successful performance means a large, possibly worldwide, attention for the project or topic. With regard to the competitions, now it's time to keep your fingers crossed but we have already reached the funding-goal of € 450 to finance the participation fees on February 19, 2020! Great!!! : D
In order to continue the series of pictures, I let the fundraising continue. With your donations, you not only ensure that the topic is even better known, but also enable me to realize other important illustration projects related to childbirth, midwifery, women's and children's rights, as well as my volunteer work at Mother Hood eV - the german federal parents' initiative for safe birth
My missionis to contribute with my works to positively changing the image of birth... first, in which I reveal the "shadows" in order to finally give the "light" its space.
