These are some of the last people who would ever want to ask you for anything because they believe in working and when times get tough you work harder. Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma however has no work harder method to make it better.
The young man in the photo has this disease and is currently very ill and fighting for his life. For 8 years Chris served in the United States Navy as did his brother Aharon and his sister Brooke is still serving in the Navy.
Chris has been out for a year and a half. Despite whatever care for the Hodgkins he has had, the doctors didn't catch the disease and now it is stage 4. He is and has been on chemoterapy but it is slow going - and no promises. He and his wife are still in Guam where he ended his tour of duty. His mother lives in Virginia and she just got back from Guam where she saw how sick her son is and how little resources they have to fight this terrifying disease.
He has a job still where he is working a couple of hours a day when he can. Read this please and I am sure you get it. God and those who can help gotta make this happen, whatever his will is in this. Chris struggles to eat enough and care for his small family. His mother has exhausted everything she has trying to send him money to help them keep a place to live and pay for the care he needs.
He needs a steady supply of things like Ensure (a liquid nutritional supplement), Gatorade as it replaces nutrients and eletrolytes he loses when he cannot hold down anything after chemo treatments and they need help continuing to get him in home care and transport for appointments which he has no coverage for.
These are the facts of their situation, but there is so much more. His brother Aharon has also pushed himself to the limit trying to help his brother and he would lay down anything else he has to make another minute better for his brother.
Cheri is Chris's mom and her words are that losing her son will break her if she hasn't tried every single thing she can to save him and help their small family. I believe this can be done.
