Home destroyed by Hurricane Ian
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
Our mother has suffered a tremendous loss from Hurricane Ian. Terry lived in a retirement community that is biking distance to Fort Myers Beach, Florida, and was one of the areas hit the hardest by the storm. She made her way home to find that the water had risen into her home over five feet, thoroughly soaking through all the tangible pieces of her life.
If you knew Terry, you’d know that you could typically find her in only a few places: leading exercise groups with her fellow residents, dancing with friends, or most often on her porch or on the beach, and always reading a book. She had a vast library of thousands of volumes that was completely decimated. While the loss of her beloved books devastated her, the reality is she lost so much more along with them.
Her bed and bedding, electronics, appliances, eating utensils, furniture and even her home. Everything needs to be replaced. Without help, this will be an impossible feat. Terry would never ask for help, but she needs it, so we, her children, are asking for her. By contributing to this fund, you’ll help Terry start to recover at least some of what she lost. All donated dollars will go directly to her in order to relocate and start over.
Thank you,
Mark, Jeremy, and Jessica
