Baby Jonathan

*Update:  Wow, over $4,000 in half a day!?  This is a beautiful display of love and support.  Don't be fooled by the "goal", however  ... there is no such thing as too much generosity.  Give what's in your heart to give.  What a way to welcome this precious gift into the world!*

At 11:40pm on February 9th, 2018,  Jonathan Butler was born to Heath and Becca.  At 7 lbs 6 oz and 21 inches long, he was excitedly welcomed and already furiously loved by his 3 sisters and 3 brothers.  

The next morning during routine checks, it was discovered that Jonathan's heart rate and oxygen levels were low.  That, combined with low blood sugar and a lack of desire to eat, were cause enough to have Jonathan taken to the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre.  

After tests of all kinds, it was discovered that baby Jonathan has a hole in the two upper chambers of his heart - this is affecting his lungs/ability to breathe on his own, his heart rate, and his appetite.  He will need heart surgery around his 1st  birthday. 

Jonathan has also been diagnosed with Down Syndrome.  At this point, there are still a lot of unknowns as far as what the future (both immediate and further down the road) will look like, but this we know to be True:  
Jonathan was knit together in his mother's womb.  He is fearfully and wonderfully made.  He was not hidden from the Creator when he was made in the secret place, he was woven together by loving Hands.  (Psalm 139)

This 'gofundme' page is simply here to serve those who want to be involved in this story somehow.  Many people have lavished love and generosity on the Butlers already, but for those who are still looking for a way to bless Jonathan and his family, this is an easy and safe way to do so.  The money raised on this page will be for whatever needs the Butlers have - medical and otherwise.  It goes directly to them, and is for them to use in whatever way they wish.  The financial "goal" is only a starting point - let's overwhelm them with our love and support, and welcome Jonathan into our community and hearts.
