<div>Throughout the past 2 years, Mary has started to notice significant neurological changes including memory troubles, as well as having sudden inability to use her limbs or walk, having sudden flashes of light blurring her vision, or experiencing pins and needles throughout her body suddenly without warning. After undergoing several rounds of assessments and MRIs, Mary found out she has a (benign) brain tumor as well as significant amounts of white matter lesions scattered throughout her brain. A spinal tap clarified that no MS was present, but more testing is needed to rule out other scary potentials. She did discover that she has severe disc degeneration of the spine, as well as bulging discs which need further treatment and intervention. She also has fibromyalgia which is a neurological and autoimmune disease that is likely partially responsible for these symptoms. Luckily, no surgery is needed yet, but she is beginning a path toward further medical intervention that will require ongoing treatment. The medical bills already have piled up to $8k just to assess her current needs (thanks to the terrible healthcare system of the US), and next year will bring even more bills with ongoing treatment.
