The Foundation for Global Community Health (GCH) is providing a solution for all families impacted by the Coronavirus. This research-based, peer-reviewed Brain-Breaks platform provides a solution for families to learn, stay fit and be active. Children are losing valuable hours of activity each day which negatively impacts physical, social, and emotional health. Help us fight back and provide a solution to all the impacted families around the world.
The Foundation for Global Community Health (GCH), a 501(c)(3) public charity was created to develop best practices for school-based wellbeing programs, provide peer-reviewed research, and bridge the resource gap that prevents schools around the world from implementing research-validated programs. Utilizing the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child framework developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, GCH has implemented a school-based wellbeing program currently reaching 2-3 million children daily in 70+ countries. Building on this network and in cooperation with an international team of advisers, GCH has emerged as the optimal vehicle for delivering a research-based locally-focused and globally-scalable digital wellbeing platform to the world’s 1.9 billion K-12 children.
The GCH platform and support network promotes education, data collection, as well as the creation and sharing of local and global WSCC and SDG entertaining and educational videos in physical activity, health, nutrition, fitness, art, dance and sport with schools, after school programs, and government organizations. This streaming platform provides resources unique to each country or region. GCH global partnerships support the platform by delivering peer-reviewed best practices blended with Sport, Art, and Entertainment.
The Founder of the GCH and leader of this campaign is Prof. Dr. Ming-kai Chin, who received his BSc from University of Tennessee-Knoxville, MEd from Springfield College-Massachusetts, MBA from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and his Ph.D. in exercise physiology from University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA in 1985. Previously he served as the Head of Sports Science at the Hong Kong Sports Institute; Head and Principal Lecturer, Department of Physical Education and Sports Science at The Education University of Hong Kong (former Hong Kong Institute of Education); and Professor, School of Health, Physical Education and Leisure Services, University of Northern Iowa, USA. Currently, he is the Vice President, Global Affairs and Research, HOPSports, Inc., USA. Prof. Chin’s research interests lie in integrated and holistic approaches in the fields of physical activity, sports, exercise science, leisure, health, and technology to promote active living in school and community. An editor of 8 books and author of over 190 publications in scientific and sports journals in English and Chinese, Prof. Chin has offered over 130 keynote and invited presentations, and over 90 conference paper presentations in North America, South America, Africa, Europe and Asia Pacific Region.
Over the last few years, the Foundation for Global Community Health (GCH) has worked with global associations, communities, government institutions and organized major international conferences delivering best practices for K-12 students around the world.
