On Monday, April 9th, Charlie Delacruz was seriously injured on the job. While working on a Man-Lift Charlie smashed/cut 3/4 of his left thumb. He underwent a 5 hour surgery at Bellevue Hospital to save his thumb. I just left the hospital from visiting Charlie and doing my best to cheer him up. During my visit, the doctor came into the room and informed Charlie that he will have to stay at the hospital for an additional three days before he is released. He was informed that the rehabilitation will take a few months. Charlie is expected to be out of work for at least 4 to 5 months. It can be financially devastating to a construction worker to suddenly find themselves out of work for this amount of time. I have taken it upon myself to establish this fund me page to ask our brothers and sisters to donate whatever they can to help Charlie in his time of need.
