On June 9th, 2018, Akash, a graduate from Texas A & M University - Kingsville, suddenly felt severe body weakness, which made him fall near his apartment. His friends immediately took him to the hospital where he was diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome. This syndrome is a rare disorder in which one's body's nervous system is attacked and leads to the paralysis of the entire body. Most people with this condition have to be hospitalized to receive medical treatment and participate in several months of intensive therapy in order to regain the strength to breathe and eat on their own again, using their arms to assist eating and hygiene, sit and stand up, and eventually gain the ability to walk again.

After knowing his condition, Akash was transferred to the ICU in  Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX, where he was treated with every treatment that was available there, but his condition got worse. By June 10th he was having problems breathing and communicating and so by June 11th, 2018, he was halo-ed to Herman Memorial Hospital at Houston, TX.

Currently, under the care of his parents and the good doctor at Herman Memorial,  he is showing some signs of improvement and is on the way of recovery.

Being a graduate student in May 2018, he had access to his insurance till the new term starts and so now his insurance has expired. We would really appreciate any help we can get to have Akash back to his natural fun loving state.
