Gaza Circus School to Ireland

Leaving Gaza for any sort of travel is next to impossible, with many barriers, checkpoints and challenges.
Last year we successfully fundraised and brought 62kg of circus equipment into Gaza for the Culture Ireland funded Taking Flight in Gaza project. We spread joy and happiness to people living in an impossible situation, performing with the Gaza Circus School while airstrikes were happening just kilometres away.
We now have a real an opportunity to bring the Gaza Circus School here to Ireland, to participate in the National Circus Festival Ireland, but to do this we need your help.
The importance of being given an opportunity to come to Ireland and participate in an event such as this cannot be stressed enough. The School operates in a tough environment, with little access to all the great facilities for circus we might take for granted in Europe.
Irish visas have been approved and 11 members of the School will travel to Ireland for just over 2 weeks, to participate in the National Circus Festival. They will visit with their Irish counterparts in circus communities around Ireland learning important new skills which they will bring back to Gaza.
With your kind donation, this trip will help the performers gain invaluable experience. Through teaching circus and clowning, (which includes working in the hospitals of Gaza as clown doctors) the money raised will go towards the Circus school in Gaza, providing essential psychosocial support to children who have suffered trauma.
Any child age 8 in Gaza has now lived through 3 wars, with the most recent in 2014, and they will have lived their whole lives under blockade, which has now entered its 11th year.
If you can give a little or a lot it will be forever appreciated, as opportunities like this for a team from Gaza are so unbelievably rare. We hope to raise enough money to cover flight and transport costs for the teams trip to Ireland.
We hope to organise some performances with the school while they are in Ireland, so keep an eye on facebook for more details!
We still have challenges ahead in relation to getting them here, but any money raised will go to support the team, and be used to support training for them in Gaza if they are unable to get to Ireland.
