In 2016, Clint Halftown submitted an illegal consensus nominating himself as the leader of the Cayuga Nation to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). Since then, the BIA and Federal Government have confirmed and continue to recognize Halftowns illegitimate power. In February, 2020 Clint Halftown demanded the widespread destruction of the epicenter of the Traditional community.

Left without a means of income and ceremonial space to continue their way of life, the people gathered at one home and started business anew. On August 3rd, 2022, Clint Halftowns threats to evict local Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫʼ families turned violent once again, beginning with the demolition of this home and barn that was then being utilized for ceremonial purposes. The “Cayuga Nation Police,” (CNP) a non-native and a privately hired security force called ‘Pathfinder Solutions,’ serving Clint Halftown, aggressively removed an elder who was residing there moments before the demolition began. Utility companies were not notified of this demolition and, therefore, electricity and gas were not shut off, putting the entire town in danger.

Following this incident, on September 7th, the “Cayuga Nation Police,” demolished the home where the first Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫʼ child was brought into this world on ancestral territory in 200 years.

Since the incident on August 3rd, 2022, four (4) Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫʼ individuals have been taken into custody, three of whom were arrested and imprisoned in Cambria County Jail, Pennsylvania. Cambria County Jail is contracted by the CNP under Clint Halftowns control. The first of which was treated inhumanely and denied his Civil Rights as well as emergency medical attention and starved for multiple days. Upon his release, he spent two days recovering in a local hospital.

On the scene of another arrest, a disabled elderly woman was tackled and tased before being taken into custody for peacefully protesting the unlawful imprisonment of her nephew.

The charges against these individuals were not released until days/weeks after they were kidnapped.

The Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫʼ community in Seneca Falls, New York is under 24/7 surveillance via the CNP and Clint Halftown, and threats of further perpetrations of their Human/Civil rights. Halftown continues in his attempts to bog down the assertion of sovereignty by the Traditional Chiefs and Clanmothers of the Cayuga Nation.
