Fight for Gavin

Gavin Diaz-Hand is 9 years old and was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He was taken to the emergency room with a severe headache and has been dealing with bad leg pains, and breathing issues. After running tests at Sparrow, they decided he should be transferred to Motts Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor for further testing. It was there that he was diagnosed with A.L.L.  

Gavin is in the 4th grade at Windemere Park Charter Academy. He plays floor hockey for the Lansing Hurricanes, soccer for Lansing Soccer Club, baseball with Dingers and football for Capital City Spartans.

Gavin’s grandfather is currently fighting his own battle with lung, liver and cancer on the brain. In such a short amount of time, this family has had to deal with so much. Gavin’s mom, Tiffany,  has been on leave from her job to care for her father, but will now have her full attention on Gavin. Gavin also has 2 brothers, Jayden and Josiah. Gavin’s dad, Justin, is currently the sole source of income for the family. As of right now, they are not sure how long Gavin will be in the hospital. Although the family has insurance, it will not come close to paying for all the other necessities that will arise during this long journey. 

No kid should have to go through this. Please keep Gavin and his family in your prayers.
