Gathering Nuts for the Nutcracker

Tax deductible
Welcome to Los Angeles Youth Ballet and Team Theatrics  - partner company of the Los Angeles Ballet Academy. We are a California Non Profit Organization, a place where teamwork, shared goals and friendships go hand-in-hand with first-class classical dance training. Not only has Team Theatrics developed many professional dancers, choreographers, actors and teachers, we are also proud of our young adults who think with the creative side of their brains and carry their poise and flexibility to succeed far beyond our studio doors.

This year – TODAY – we need your help. We’re producing our first-ever Nutcracker at Glendale's historic Alex Theatre on December 22 & 23. In order to fund it we’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal of $50,000. Will you help us today?

Maybe you found yourself here because one of our dancers asked for your help?

Perhaps you live in Los Angeles and have seen one of our high-quality productions?

Maybe  your little one attends one of our Pre school classes and aspires to join our Team one day?

Or it might be you are a supporter of the arts – perhaps you danced in “The Nutcracker” once yourself – and are looking to give another dancer the same experience?

Whatever circumstances led you to this page, thank you for coming. Before you leave, please consider making an investment in our “Nutcracker” and the future of our dance company. We can’t do it without you.

Like so many non-profits and even professional dance companies, we run our Team on a shoe-string budget – or in our case, maybe the elastic on a ballet slipper is a better analogy!  Practicing the arts is fundamental to the healthy development of the 75-100 children's minds and spirits that participate in our program.
Throughout the year we produce two major performances in addition to taking part in a wide-range of community appearances, master classes, and performance events across the country. We are a true NON-PROFIT… any proceeds from our productions are poured right back into our teams –  costumes, choreography, scholarships, entry fees – whatever we need to keep our dancers growing and engaged.

And we’re inventive! We re-purpose sets, costumes, props, again and again. Still, we’ve never done “The Nutcracker” and even with our most-thrifty efforts, we’ll need a significant investment of funds. We’ve set the ambitious goal of raising $50,000 to pay for the staging of this new show and here’s why:

**   “The Nutcracker” is profitable.  Our research shows that dance companies that perform the Nutcracker sell more tickets and make more money from this production than any other.

**   Investing in this show this year is an Investment In Our Future.  A one-time investment this year into the elements necessary to stage “The Nutcracker” means we will own them and can expect larger profits from staging the show again in the future (perhaps every-other-year).   An investment this year is a way to ensure the fiscal health of our organization in the years to come.

**   We’re making dreams come true. It may sound corny, but this is really the most important reason:  I am a dreamer and I believe  performing in “The Nutcracker” will be a magical experience for our children.   We know from long experience that no one can claim to be truly educated who lacks basic knowledge and skills in the arts – it’s a rite of passage for a young dancer and something they will carry with them throughout their lives.

Be part of the magic.
