Gateway Great's Go Outside

These students attend the largest Urban school in the city of Saint Louis and they come from different areas. Together, these students are making a conscious effort to learn each day despite their economic status or home life. Their lunch time is the only time during the day they get to hang with friends.

Students need a designated safe space at school where they are able to hang with their friends during lunch.

Our students deserve rewards for their efforts in the classroom and time to be themselves throughout the day.

By funding this project, you will be helping about 100-200 juniors and seniors stay out of trouble. Due to overcrowding in the cafeteria, students are forced to leave to find a place to sit or a place for peace and quiet for 30 minutes. These outdoor tables and trash cans will provide an area for our upperclassmen to spend their lunch outside on a nice day to seek refuge when the cafeteria is full.

This will also make sure these students are not getting in trouble for roaming the halls during lunch, resulting in less detentions and in school suspensions.
We don't want our students to be in detention/ISS, we'd rather have them in class and learning.

The upperclassmen will only be able to use this area as a privilege. We want them to be able to hang out with their friends for 30 minutes to replenish their energy in order to be the best students they can be for the last hour of the day.

We are asking for 10 tables and 4 trash cans. We are hoping to purchase these items from TreeTopProducts. These are the most cost effective for our school.
