Gates flood recovery fund

My name is Sherry Gates and I live in Dickinson, Texas. During Hurricane Harvey, our house took on 24 inches of water and we had to evacuate. Me and my family got out with the clothes on us and our pets and phones. All of our furniture and most of our personal belongings were destroyed by the water. Unfortunately, we do not have insurance to cover our personal belongings and we will have to find a new home. I am so grateful for our family and friends and the fact that we got out safe and sound.

I am creating this fund for our family and friends to benefit myself and my husband Tracy, my son Zachary, and my daughter Madison to recover from the loss that the flood left.

If you are able to help with our fund, the funds will be used to help us replace clothing now and household essentials and furniture when we find a new place to live.

We chose the Gofundme site becuase it makes the funds available quickly and daily so that family and friends who are wanting to help could do so conveniently.  I am able to withdraw the funds on a daily basis to meet the needs of myself, Tracy, Zachary, and Madison.
