Hi,
Right before Christmas, my father suffered a stroke. He was then released on good health. Shortly after, on New Years Eve, he suffered a heart attack. He was in ICU for about a week. His arteries were too clogged for them to operate as it was too risky. The staff at the hospital then told us to expect the worst and to start “preparing.” They released him about a week after on medication although they knew he needed oxygen to help him breathe. A couple days later he was back in the hospital because he couldn’t breathe. A few days later they released him to rehabilitation because he wasn’t able to move on his own. He has no movement in the left side of his body and it looks to be permanent.
We are seeking help because his medical bills are coming in and the insurance is only covering a portion of it. It is currently at $120,000 and bills are still coming in. Because of everything that took place, my mother had to take off work and now she is falling behind on bills. She has gone from working full time to 2 days a week. She is in danger of losing her insurance because of the minimal hours required to keep it. She is also in danger of losing our home.
For those that know my mom and dad, they are both hard workers. Almost never taking vacation or time off unless it was beyond their will. They always look out for everyone and are the first to offer help. When we have get togethers, they always offer the house for people to stay over if needed so everyone can be safe. They almost never ask for help so I am starting this because the stress and worry that both of my parents are suffering is almost uncontrollable now. Our family is doing everything we can to help, but we still need help.
