Have  you ever heard of anybody aged 32 be diagnosed with STAGE 4 (incurable) stomach cancer & offered no effective treatment?

 

Neither had we…..those words began this absolute living nightmare.

 

Gary at just 32 years of age, an extremely caring father to his sweet little daughters Betty and Honey, and loving partner to his long term soul mate, the mother of his children, Sophie.

 

Gary’s diagnosis shocked us all, stage 4 (final) stomach cancer.

 

BANG, our whole lives changed in an instant.

 

The Specialists have told Gary “conventional medicine cannot help him”.

 

To be told this at such a young age with 2 babies is more than heart-breaking, how can you continue as a father, as a mother?

 

The “normal treatment for this” Gary wasn’t “suitable” for.

 

Next the nurses told us we had to tell the children….. How?

 

As a family, together we have spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours researching how we can do anything to help him beat this evil & horrible disease. We was losing hope daily….

 

Then…we came across something:

 

HOPE came along in the form of knowledge for us, We have managed to find a specialist clinic in Mexico.

 

The Hope4Cancer specialist cancer unit in Cancun, Mexico deliver fantastic success rates for people in Gary’s condition, they have informed us that Gary is suitable for their treatment and they are confident that they can fix him!

 

This treatment is expensive, but in comparison to a life, surely there is no price too expensive!

 

We are asking for support.

 

Any help what so ever we would be eternally grateful for.

 

Time is not on our side & we HAVE to raise the funds required to pay for this treatment, anything anyone can spare is very much appreciated.

 

Gary’s prognosis is not good if he remains here in the U.K.

 

 

We are determined to do all that we can to raise the funds to get Gary over to Mexico for the treatment that will save his life, any help is very much appreciated.

 

 

(Sophie’s story in her own words)

 

It was the 20th of October 2018 Our daughters 3rd birthday. Gary woke up in the morning feeling awful sick and had terrible acid reflux something he had never had before. Honeys Birthday was already booked so Gary being Gary carried on and came to the party.

 

The next day Gary woke up again feeling really sick and in a lot of discomfort with his stomach so we decided to take a trip up to arrow park as it was the weekend and he doctors where shut. Gary was assessed by a doctor had his bloods etc took and then sent home as they’ve thought it may be a bug he had picked up.

 

Over the next few days things just got a lot worse Gary could hardly keep water down and couldn’t even look at food let alone eat anything .He booked an appointment at his doctors and after a consultation was once again was sent home.

 

This continued for over 3 weeks and things was not getting any better. We had numerous trips to our local Hospital (Arrowe Park) Gary was continuously sent home without any diagnosis.

 

Eventually Gary got an another appointment with his Doctor, by this time he had lost a lot of weigh as he hadn’t been able to keep anything down at all for 3 weeks. His doctors then requested he went for a gastroscopy as he suspected that he may have a gastric ulcer and that’s what was causing all the pain & sickness.  I

 

t was the 28th of November and we went to Arrowe Parkfor Gary’s appointment we felt relieved that the day had finally come he was going to be able to get some treatment for his ulcer. Gary went in for a camera procedure, I sat in the waiting room when he came out we both got called straight back in to the hospital room

 

Three nurses was waiting in the room and a Doctor I remember the room was very small ,the second wewalked in I knew instantly that something wasn’t right!

 

The Doctor told us that he was awful sorry but when they put the camera down they had spotted something that looked very much like a tumour….. he went on to say they’d took 8 biopsy’s from it and we would have to wait for the results to come back.

 

Two weeks of not sleeping and Gary being in a lot of pain and constantly being sick still and the results came back…..

 

That day our whole life was turned upside down. The Doctor told us that it was unfortunately cancer of the stomach. We were in complete shock ….. Gary is only 32 years of age…. How can this be happening?

 

 

Later that day we met the McMillan cancer team and they talked us through a lot of what was going to happen next. The next procedure was a pet scan to discover the stage of Gary’s cancer and to see if they could operate. Gary had been admitted into hospital with severe pain and sickness. The results came back really fast….

 

This was possibly the worst day of our lives .We got told that Garys’ cancer had already spread to his lymph nodes and was at stage 4. He was terminal. He was then told they will offer chemotherapy to prolong his life and also offered him palliative care….

 

Gary has since done everything possible to give himself the best chance at any treatment that has been offered to him. This has included several rounds of chemotherapy suffering some horrendous side effects leading to several periods in hospital but nothing as of yet has worked in his favour.

 

When the consultant was asked would the tumour shrink after him doing all the rounds of chemotherapy his response was bleak…” You’ll need a miracle” said the Consultant.

 

Since Gary was diagnosed all our friends and family have been doing a lot of research to try are best to find something that could help Gary. We’ve now found a life saving treatment for Gary with an excellent Success rate.

 

The only way that Gary can receive this extremely specialised treatment is for us to pay for it privately at a cost of £36,000.

 

Gary has fought with sheer determination to get to where he is now and our family and friends will continue to do everything we can to support him but the reality is if we can’t raise the funds required for the treatment, Gary can’t have it.

 

Gary is 32 years old and dad of 2 young girls, Betty is aged 7 and Honey is just 3 years of age, both absolutely idolise their Dad!

 

He is there world as they are his. Gary has been so strong and fought so hard to get to where he is now and I truthfully believe Gary deserves this chance to watch his daughters grow up and see them reach their first day in secondary school.

 

Any help and support we can get to help us get Gary the treatment he needs to save his life will be very much appreciated We will never be able to thank you all enough and be eternally grateful for any contribution you can spare small or otherwise.

 

Its broken my heart to have had to put this story into words, we believe the treatment we have found for Gary will be his miracle, we need the support of anyone who can help.
