Gary Vincent and family need your help

Gary was leaving a Kentucky Derby Gathering on Saturday September 5, 2020, at approximately 7:30pm. This was a small get together where alcohol was not being served.  Neither Gary or the other four attendants of the gathering had been drinking that night.

As Gary turned east onto 190TH Street west of Crenshaw Blvd, he somehow lost control of his Honda Reflex Motor Scooter and struck the median sending him airborne where he landed in the westbound traffic lanes with the Motor Scooter on top of him. Unfortunately, the accident was so severe, it left Gary with a traumatic brain injury.  Gary has been in a coma since.  He had part of his skull removed to relieve the pressure building in his brain.  The doctors at Harbor General Hospital/ UCLA in Torrance indicated that due to the severity of the injury to his brain, the road to recovery will be a long and arduous one.  The best outcome that they spoke of is Gary being in a permanent vegetative state.

It is important to point out that Gary was aided at the accident scene by 5 of the neighbors that came out of their house and lifted the bike off him prior to his being transported to Harbor General Hospital / UCLA in Torrance. We want to thank Habib, Michael, Desiree, Frank, and Bonnie for helping Gary at the accident scene.  They were there to comfort Gary until help arrived and we cannot thank them enough for the compassion they showed to him.

Gary is 1 of 7 brothers and the 4th son of Phillip and Sandra Vincent.  He is a Class of 1983 North Torrance High Graduate.

We have had an abundance of well wishes for Gary from friends and colleagues and he has a strong, loving and optimistic family who are eagerly awaiting his return from the hospital.   In a situation as unforeseen and dire as this, Gary’s family is trying their best to handle the increasing medical costs. Unfortunately, the reality is that Gary’s family is now facing the insurmountable bills that are only in the beginning stages. Gary’s family is known for always helping others in distress and times of need.  Now they need your help.  They are asking if you would be willing to find it in your hearts to please donate towards these medical expenses.  Our thanks, gratitude and prayers to all those who took time to read this.
