Gary Nesmith Memorial Fund

Tax deductible
Last month we lost a dear friend in our motorcycle family, Gary Nesmith. He was a VITAL longtime member of the BMW Motorcycle Owners of Alabama, and a member of the lesser known NASTIs, North Alabama Sports Touring Illegitimi.

As a teenager he knew he wanted to be a firefighter to help save people. Gary started his fire fighting career in Pratt City, AL in 1970 at the age of 21.

He spent the next 34 years in different stations and positions until he retired in 2004 at the ripe old age of 55 from the Birmingham Fire Department as Captain (Nautical).

He knew he wanted to retire young enough to do what he loved to do, ride his motorcycles. Many times during his retirement he had 6 of them just waiting to be ridden.

If you ever came to Huntsville on Memorial Day Weekend for one of BMW's greatest 'little rallies', you can thank Gary for being on the cooking crew for more than 20 years.

In Gary's name, the NASTIs are asking for donations to the small-town EMT unit who were there when needed, and were there when they made his final call.

They're Devotion to Their Brother was Honorific.

So if you know Gary or a First Responder, came to one of the Chicken Rallies, or live in a small town that depend on Volunteers, please give even a little. We really need these people in our Iives and to show our utmost support.

THANK YOU AND PEACE BE WITH ALL OF YOU
