Dear friends,
Our father needs your help and your prayers. This past Thanksgiving our dad, Gary Douglas was diagnosed with prostate cancer. There is usually not much concern with this type of cancer as it is typically slow moving. However, we have since learned that the cancer has been developing for at least five years and could have moved beyond the prostate, which makes the situation much more serious and urgent than we initially thought. He is scheduled for surgery next Thursday, February 22nd. We were informed just this past Tuesday that his insurance will not cover $4,000 of the total cost. He will also be unable to work either of his two jobs for at least 4 weeks, leaving he and his wife without nearly $3,000 in income they sorely need. This coming just a few months after acquiring the first home he has owned in nearly 30 years. Our dad is a behavioral specialist in the Wichita Falls Independent School District, he works a tough job taking care of school children that need him and is one of the most beloved teachers in the district. He also parks cars after his job at the elementary school just to makes sure all the needs are met for him and his wife, Angela. So, we are asking for your help. And for anyone who donates $500 or more, I will play a private concert at a time and place of your choosing and give a month's worth of weekly private lessons. Us Douglas' work hard and my dad is no exception. He deserves a cure without the burden of thousands of dollars in debt, which he cannot sustain and my brother and I have very limited ability to buffer. Thank you for your time and consideration.
