Support BIPOC-led voter engagement for GA runoffs!

Hi y'all, we're CivicGeorgia, and this Giving Tuesday we need *your support* to have a voter ENCORE in Georgia - we're working to turn out record numbers AGAIN in Georgia’s two U.S. Senate and Public Service Commission elections!

Georgia had record-breaking turnout in November, but without re-engaging every Georgian voter, runoffs turnouts as a default are lower than election participation, and we know that the lack of runoff engagement is disproportionately lower in disenfranchised & silenced communities. So we’re working to connect with and lift the voices of the 23,000 newly eligible voters turning 18 by Jan. 5, the 450,000 already registered Georgia voters who didn’t vote in November, and the millions of other Georgia voters who should also be engaged on the issues!

Organizational background: As a collaborative of organizers since 2017, CivicGeorgia strives to amplify the voice, frequency, and impact of community-led efforts for progress. We act to achieve equity & justice through & in civic engagement. We do this through advocacy efforts and grassroots movement building year round, and we know our communities because we ARE our communities.

Mission: We are dedicated to civic participation by and voice for everyone in our state, with intentional inclusivity for our most silenced communities- people of color, our homeless sisters and brothers, immigrant and refugee families, LGBTQ+ folx, people of varying ability and neurodiversity statuses & identities, young people, currently and formerly incarcerated people, and the many of us who are ‘othered’.

Runoff efforts:

* Unique and engaging virtual & COVID-conscious in-person activities including a poetry slam, a youth-led statewide Bus Tour, a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) livestream concert, marches to the polls/dropboxes, arts experiences like a chalk-art campaign, and acting as the anchor partner in Atlanta for the highly successful "Party at the Mailbox" voter engagement campaign (see www.partyatthemailbox.com ) to help civically active community members start conversations and “unlock” the civic engagement capacity of their friends, family, & neighbors.
* Training new GA organizers who are ready to engage their communities to create a multiplier effect achieved through coalition-based workshops which will have local organizers providing ideas, strategies, resources and support to new organizers
* Traditional GOTV (e.g., phonebanking/textbanking/postcard writing/tabling) using relational organizing (in-state and out-of-state volunteers reaching out to their networks in Georgia) and unique outreach to connect with Georgian voters who were determined to be likely inaccurately purged from voter rolls.
