My name is Garrett Matthews and I am thirteen years old. I am in 7th grade at Cedar Park Middle School and this will be my first year showing pigs. I have two pigs, a Duroc and a Yorkshire.
I've been able to learn a lot about leadership and the importance of the FFA Organization. It's really amazing to be part of something so BIG! FFA (Future Farmers of America) is so much more than Farming and Livestock and I hope that anyone that ever has the opportunity to be a part of it, in any way, chooses to do it.
I’m learning so much about raising a pigs, I assume it’s similar to raising a kid. I feed them every morning and night, clean poop, lots and lots of poop. I bath, walk, play and love on them. I've scooped and shoveled more pig poop than any one person should have to in their lifetime. My mom says I stink all the time, but she said that before I had the pigs.
I joined this website to help raise money to fund my project and to help collect donations from friends and family; Please do not feel obligated to donate.
