It’s been a year since I lost my mum Bryony, to cancer. I felt this was the right time to do something meaningful in her memory.
This October, my friend Michael and I are taking on HYROX as a duo. An intense fitness event involving 8 x 1km runs, each followed by a challenging functional workout station. We’ve chosen this challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a cause that is deeply personal to us.
For me, this is in honour of my mum and the incredible care support Macmillan gave my mum and our family. For Michael, it’s personal too, he has volunteered on the Nightingale Macmillan Cancer Ward and seen first-hand the life-changing support they provide to patients and families.
Our goal is to raise £400, enough to fund the Macmillan Support Line for an hour. This vital service offers emotional, practical, and medical support to people living with cancer and their loved ones, support that so many rely on.
With over 3 million people in the UK living with cancer today, Macmillan’s work has never been more important. But they can only continue with the help of donations.
If you’re able to give, no matter how small, you’ll be making a real difference. Thank you for helping us honour my mum and support this incredible charity.
