Support Megan's Journey to Independence
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Megan Looney. For the past four and a half years, I've been battling with a multitude of health conditions that have severely impacted my ability to function normally. I have had feeding tubes for the last four and a half years and have been dependent on IV nutritional life support, a form of nutrition that goes through a special line that goes into your heart and bloodstream and completely bypasses my GI tract. For the past year, I've been dependent on a wheelchair to get around 100% of the time. Unfortunately, all I have is a standard “one size fits all” chair, which makes it difficult for me to have any sort of independence.
On Friday, I'm finally getting fit for AFO braces, which will hopefully give me the ability to use my feet/ankles enough to drive and walk very short distances. I have gotten the opportunity to get a custom wheelchair that will allow me to be independent and even load my own chair into my car since it's ultra-light and will fit me perfectly. Having this chair will aid in me being able to go out on my own, which would be a literal dream. All I've wanted is some independence so I can be myself.
This custom chair is from a non-profit and is originally $2,500; however, the nonprofit has heavily discounted this chair and it will only be around $550. It's even my favorite color, pink! This opportunity means the whole world to me. I'm so thankful and grateful for the army of love and support I have behind me. Any donation would be beyond kind and appreciated. Even just a share would mean the world. Thank you so much for your time.
