Gamma Tau Housing Fund
Donation protected
One of the things that makes Gamma Tau unique is The Castle. For over 80 years Kappa Sigma’s have not only been able to enjoy events, brotherhood, and community that 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue offered but also be part of a permanent fixture that we can all call home.
Unfortunately, the brothers have not been able to live in The Castle for the last couple of years. The lack of occupancy has contributed and expedited the property's deterioration, culminating in a flood this past winter. While we are working with the Housing Board under expectation to be back to full occupancy this coming fall, it has become apparent that the chapter needs to create a fund that is separate from the Housing Board and allows Gamma Tau the financial reserves to quickly and consistently respond to the physical needs of the chapter house and assist in its upkeep and modernization.
Our Intent:
-Create the GTHF (Gamma Tau Housing Fund) separate from our existing reserves.
-GTHF is to be directly managed by the Executive Committee members to ensure a quick response and management of any upgrades, repairs, or needs of the house.
-Create a House Manager Position to have bottom-line responsibility for the operation of the house.
-Appropriate a Portion of all Active Member’s dues to the upkeep of the House and Annex.
-Work with the Housing Board to ensure the fund is not utilized for anything covered in our existing or future lease agreements.
