Let’s Help Our Friend Dana!
Mother, wife, teacher, friend and now brave cancer fighter!
In November of 2014, our good friend Dana was diagnosed with Stage 4 HER2 Inflammatory Breast Cancer . This comes nearly a year to the day after her husband Jamie fought and won his own battle with cancer which resulted in the loss of his arm. The family was still adjusting to their new life when the hard news hit.
Dana is the proud mom of adorable 5 year old twins Andy and Ella and is also a second grade teacher at Fremont Elementary School in Mundelein Illinois. She is a creative, caring teacher and is loved by her students.
Since the holidays Dana has been undergoing chemotherapy, which seems to be working as her chest swelling has gone down. She will have 18 weeks of chemotherapy and after that point her doctors will assess next steps. If possible she plans to continue her work while she undergoes treatment. She is in good spirits and is hugely inspiring to all of us.
We want to help fund her out-of-pocket medical bills and other treatment costs. Our goal is $5000. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated!
