The Future is Bright

After 12 years of working with the Columbia Metropolitan area thru Frame of Mind and Plessinger Productions, we’ve decided to take things to the next level. New opportunities have presented themselves in Dayton Ohio as well as in Columbia. So, we’ve decided to close Frame of Mind and focus on expanding our influence to a multistate level. Here’s the skinny

1.      We will be opening a new space in Dayton Ohio that will be a joint studio, gallery, and event space.

2.      Plessinger Productions will be taking a step forward by adding consulting to its well established event production business.

3.      The Cult of Eyewear (our new eyewear accessory brand) will become a major focus and will be housed within the studio space in Dayton.

You may be asking why Dayton Ohio?

Honestly, because its part of my heart. I have spent half my life in Columbia, Augusta, Savannah areas and the other half in Dayton. I love both Columbia and Dayton equally, they are both burning passions of mine. The past year I have been able to spend a little more time in Dayton than I normally get to, and during this time opportunities presented themselves that I couldn’t turn down. I will be working to connect the two cities I love (artistically, at least). By creating a gallery space in Dayton, I am able to take all the SC artists that I know and love to a new city and expand their impact beyond SC. And vice versa, artists from Dayton will be shown in Columbia (at the TRAC Gallery and studios, the old Frame of Mind location). And I will be able to work with new (to me) communities and help them build all while I get to continue working with my communities in Columbia.

So, why a fund raiser? Why am I asking for your help?

Mainly because it takes a lot of money to close down a brick and mortar location and to start another in another location, especially one that is of a different genre. We need your help Columbia, and your help Dayton (and help from anyone that is interested in the local art community anywhere), in putting the space together in Dayton. To get it off the ground. We have to move a lot of fixtures to Ohio (that’s a truck, gas, and manpower), we need to build some walls and get lighting and all the fun stuff put in to make it an effective gallery/event space, and covering the rent for the first few months while we are working double (or triple) time to get the space up and running (while working markets and such for Cult).

Basically, we are asking you to believe in our dream, that you take this journey with us. That our family in Columbia travels with us and becomes our foundation in Dayton, while our family in Dayton becomes a part of Columbia.

We have been putting together events for both cities, already. Artists, such as Mike Elsass and Ray Myers from Dayton and Whitney LeJeune, Michael Krajewski and Justin Vorhis from Columbia are currently working with us to become a part of our new endeavors. Your support will make all of this come to fruition.
