Gaining his Wings - Allen Lang

UPDATE: Allen gained his wings 12/21/2020 with his wife and daughter at his side holding his hand...I know you’ll be watching over us Al! ❤️

It seems surreal that I am typing this. My brother-in-law, Allen Lang, suffered a massive stroke Tues Dec. 15th.   Although we prayed hard, we are not facing the outcome we had hoped. Allen is being transferred today to the hospice center in Huntsville to rest his final days in comfort and peace. My sister and niece were not allowed to see him during his stay at the Neuro ICU, so this way they can be by his side as he prepares to enter Heaven.

Allen was diagnosed with kidney disease in his 20s during his time as an amazing college baseball player. His last 20 years have been some of the most heart wrenching health years no one should have to endure. And I NEVER heard him complain ONE TIME. Through dialysis, kidney transplants, numerous sicknesses and hospital stays... he was a positive man who loved his family more than anything. My heart breaks for all his family and especially my sister and his 12 year old daughter.

I know Allen touched many with his complete selflessness attitude. I wish we all could be more like him. Second to family, his greatest joy was stepping on the field with the kids he coached in baseball and softball. He truly loved those kids and wanted so much success in life and on the field for them. He encouraged and coached many that he impacted forever and were blessed for their time with him. All prayers are very much appreciated. And we will update with service info as we have it.

Many have asked to bring food and offer help. We are overwhelmed with the kindness. Against my sister’s wishes, I have started a GoFund Me page to take away some of the burden of the financial expenses. I think this is the best way to help her for those who have asked. You are very much appreciated.

Please continue to lift them up in prayer and pray for his peaceful, comfortable passing into a better afterlife. We love you Allen. Thank you for sharing your joy and love of life with us. We are so blessed to know you.
