Gabrielle is my sister and one of the strongest people I know. She is 28 years old and currently resides in Dallas, Texas with her husband Wes. Gabrielle was a 6th grade mathematics teacher for K.I.P.P. (Knowledge is Power Program) in D.C. However she recently relocated to Dallas in order to be closer to our parents and her husband's family. Due to chronic fatigue from her procedures, Gabrielle is not employed. She has a strong faith in Jesus, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to her health.
On Thursday June 8th, 2017, Gabrielle's strength was tested as she woke up with severe chest pain and fatigue after previously being seen by her general practitioner a few weeks prior. Despite her strong will, Gabrielle chose to admit herself to the emergency room at George Washington University Hospital. After numerous tests and blood work it would be a short amount of time before the initial diagnosis. Twenty-four hours later, on Friday June 9th, 2017, Gabrielle was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
Immediately following the diagnosis of ALL, Gabrielle began her first round of chemotherapy last Friday. The specialists at GWU Hospital have recommended for her to have multiple rounds of chemotherapy for the next 7-8 months. Additionally she was recommended to have monthly hospital visits in order to monitor her white blood count and overall well-being.
Gabrielle and her husband Wes married in GWU Hospital on Tuesday June 13th, 2017. I am praying and believing to have these funds available for Gabrielle and Wes by the end of July 2017. This gofundme will help my sister and her husband Wes with medical bills, future moving expenses, and other expenses in the coming months. Gabrielle was recently offered a teaching position, for 6th grade math, at a prestigious boarding school in Maryland. However, due to Gabrielle's recent and future chemotherapy treatments, it is highly recommended that she focus on regaining her health and strength. In turn, Gabrielle plans to turn down the position at the boarding school. Moreover, she and her husband Wes are in the process of moving to Texas within a few weeks, in order to be closer to both of their families.
I created the gofundme on behalf of my sister Gabrielle. I believe in Jesus' name that she will be completely healed of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and will continue her passion to teach math!
In addition to monetary funding, Gabrielle is in need of prayer warriors who will pray and believe with her that she is healed of ALL.
