Support for the Baird Family

It is with profound sorrow that we share the unexpected passing of Dr. and Mrs. Gordon and Germaine Baird, who each left us just a day apart, on February 9th and 10th. Their sudden departure, less than 24 hours apart, has left their family and all who knew them deeply heartbroken. Gordon and Germaine were inseparable in life, and their love for one another was evident even in their final moments. Although Mrs. Baird had been struggling with early dementia, it’s clear she sensed the loss of her beloved husband as well.

They leave behind their two daughters, Gabrielle and Genevieve, and their grandchildren, who are now facing the overwhelming burden of both parents' funeral expenses. To lose both parents so suddenly, and to arrange for two funerals on the same day, is an unimaginable hardship. For any child, the loss of a parent is a profound sorrow, but to endure the grief of losing both parents within such a short time is heart-wrenching.

Having witnessed the incredible strength of Gabrielle and Genevieve in the past two weeks, it is evident that these two sisters are doing everything in their power to honor the memory of their parents and give them the farewell they deserve. While the emotional toll is indescribable, the financial challenge is no less significant. As a close friend, I wanted to offer my support, and with their blessing, I have set up this GoFundMe to help alleviate the funeral expenses—covering both parents' services.

Many of you know Gabrielle as Mrs. Agwu, affectionately known as “Mrs. A” or “the Purple Queen.” She has touched the lives of so many students over the years, and now is our opportunity to show her, and her family, the same love and support they have so graciously shared with our community.
