Gabriel Ramirez's Funeral Fund

Donation protected
Gabriel Ramirez passed away 2 days before his 61st birthday this past Sunday morning. He had suffered from diabetes, kidney failure, and heart failure. He had been in and out of the hospital for about 1 year after health complications stared to arise. Through weekly dialisys treatments and several surgeries, including a partial amputation of his toes, he stayed positive. The people who knew him admired his work ethic. With only a couple of days of being out of the hospital after having been minutes from death, he returned to work. He wanted to keep providing for his family as he always had. Throughout the year he grew more sickly and it became harder for him to maintain a full-time or even a part-time job, but he would not let that stop him from trying.
I have known Mr. Ramirez, or don Gabriel as I called him, my whole llife. He was one of my family's dearest and closest friends. He and his family would spend most  holidays with ours. When I was little, his wife would babysit me and they always teased me because as soon as he would come home from work I would ask him to walk me to the store. He would say, "but I'm way too tired from working hard all day" and I would say, "you're not that  tired and the store isn't far!" He would eventually give in and take me to the store just so that I could pick out a tiny lollipop to take home. Gabriel Ramirez was the kindest most generous person you could have met and his family's pain is ours as well. He was deeply loved by all who knew him. It will be difficult to assimilate that this beautiful man will no longer be with us to brighten our day with his humor and love.
Gabriel's last wish was to be buried alongside his mother in Cuernavaca, Mexico. His family and friends are doing everything possible to make that come true. Some funeral homes are estimating up to $13,000 in costs to send him to the cemetery in Mexico where his mother is buried. His wife and son are currently looking into other funeral homes with the hopes of finding a less costly funeral home. The money raised from this account will go directly to his funeral expenses. We are hoping to be able to raise the money within the next two weeks to hopefully facilitate the transportation of his body to Mexico in a conserved state. His wife, Erika, will be in charge of the final expenses.
Anything at all will go a long way. We appreciate everyone for their kindness and consideration.
