Gabriel M Grill medical & funeral

Gabriel Michael Grill was born September 13, 2016 as beautiful baby boy of twins!! To all of our surprise I was with 2 kids and having TWINS...... lots of overwhelming happiness until we went to see what we were having.... BOYS?? GIRLS?? BOY/GIRL?? But sadly we were going to have one baby BOY who was healthy and one baby BOY who was going to either not make it or struggle. Many Doctor appointments with nothing but bad news on my precious baby. He was diagnosed with Alobar Holoprosencephaly. This is a brain disorder where the brain only partially developes. This was going to my reality! When Gabriel was born he was diagnosed with semi-lobar holoprosencephaly, he did very welll for abour 24 hours. He started to have mild seizures, this was only the beginning. Once we were able to come home it only got more and more complicated. I had many sleepless nights and many battles of temprature regulating, weighing countless diapers due to his Diabetes Insipidus, trying to take care of feeding tubes, medicate and nonstop watching of him to catch every spit up and every droll. My biggest fear was him aspirating which could cause him much harm.
Gabe has excelled where no one thought he could. He can suck on a binky (quite fiercly) loves to snuggle your neck and loves to be sang to. His face lights up when you talk to him. He enjoys trying new flavors of babyfood, blueberries seem to be his favorite.  He is quite amazing.
Three months ago his feeds were increased, this caused many spats of spitting up, in this event, his feeds were too much for him to handle. He aspirated so quickly. We took him to childrens where he fell quickly. We spent night after night watching his health go down hill. He had many weeks where he was stable, but then it all hit..... his health declined fast. We had no choice but to have him intubated. Later that night to our surprise, he WOKE UP! The first time I'd seen his beautiful blue eyes in 3 weeks! We played his little glow worm and it was like he was back. Little did we know that his poor little body was so tired of fighting that this tube would end up only being a temporary fix. Even so, Gabe has had many many ups and downs. He is still fighting....... so with him being unresponsive and unable to breath for himself for 2 weeks, we had to make a choice no parents ever want to make..... deciding when to extubate.  As we are ready for God to give our sweet angel his wings, so he will be without pain and suffering. It would mean the world to us and our family to give him the funeral he deserves. With all the medical bills and funeral cost, we are totally overwhelmed with how we can do this.  Your donations will greatly be appreciated by all our family and friends. Please help us give our beautiful son a beautiful ending and resting place.
 God Bless
Joshua, Lindsey, Alexis, Rylee, Matthew and Gabriel
