Gabe's study in Italy fund

About the age of 10, Gabe Halstead-Alvarez discovered a love for acting, dancing and singing.  Since that time, he has been devoted 110% to the study of theater arts.  He has been attending Interlochen Arts Academy and will conmplete his senior / fourth year there.   
In addition, Gabe has been selected to participate in two amazing opportunities this summer that will enhance his expertise in acting, singing, and dancing as he continues to do well at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. He is entering his senior year of high school there.

The first event is a three-week summer intensive musical theater program at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City June 7 to June 27. He will have the opportunity to study current Broadway shows in the studio and experience seeing them live on stage in their unique core curriculum studies. The Musical Theater Summer Intensive features innovative classes in acting, singing, and dancing that will help produce the future stars of musical theater.

Daily classes will be in offered ballet, musical theater/jazz, acting, and vocal classes taught by present day Broadway performers. They are currently working with Broadway performers in Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, An American in Paris, On the Town, and Matilda to provide Daily classes in ballet, musical theater/jazz, acting, and vocal classes.

Gabe has also been selected to participate in a four-week summer intensive at the Accademia dell’ Arte in Arezzo, Italy. He is one of the first high schoolers to be admitted in this program. He will experience a rigorous education that takes place in an atmosphere that encourages individual expression and experimentation. This provides students with the skills and techniques that form the fundamental basis from which excellence and creativity can emerge.

The location of the school in Arezzo with its beautiful facilities at Villa Godiola and the proximity of a host of vibrant performing venues, from the Teatro Petrarca–a classical opera house–to the historic piazzas and churches of Tuscany, will enable him to come into close contact with professional actors, directors, musicians, technicians and numerous artists that make up the world of European theatre and performance.

As you might guess these opportunities have some significant costs and some unexpected expenses have come up for this process.   Contributions of any size are greatly appre ciated!
