Gabe's Fight

This is a story that has impacted every person that is going to read it directly or indirectly in their past. This story has been told over and over again. This story has awareness days, commercials and research groups. Every time you hear a new story, that story involves a person who is in a fight for their life. This story is about our friend Gabe Salvador. This story is Cancer.
Gabe has been recently dealing with what he thought was a simple acid reflux issue over the past few months. He had discomfort after eating and was treating it with antacids as people do all the time. 3 weeks ago his pain began to bother him enough so that he went into the emergency room for help. He left with a diagnosis of Stage 4 esophageal-stomach cancer that has spread to his liver and lymph nodes.
For those of you who don't know Gabe, he is a 13 year paramedic working in San Francisco. He has selflessly dedicated his life to helping complete strangers daily. It would be impossible to count how many peoples lives that Gabe has impacted in a positive way both at work and personally.
Gabe recently was married to his beautiful wife Nikki. We all gathered last June to watch these two join hands in marriage in one of the most fun weddings anyone had ever been too. Now we will all join together again, as one united family, to help Gabe fight and beat cancer so that he can continue to fight for you and your families as he always has.
Gabe will soon be unable to work due to his treatments that will take 100 % of his endurance and focus. Although he would tell you he could still do it all and get a workout done in between. We are asking anyone who has the means to contribute to his fund, to pay for anything that may arise during his fight.
Gabe is a very proud man from the old school. He normally keeps his problems to himself and works to resolve them on his own. This is a rare occurrence where it does take a village and he knows that. So lets show him what his village is capable of.
