Most of you know Gabe. But for those of you that don't, Gabe is an amazing father to his kids, a wonderful husband, and one of the truest friends you'd be lucky enough to have. Gabe is the quiet one that comes in early and stays until the job is done. He is always there when someone needs help. However Gabe is not the one that usually asks for help. Even when it's needed (and just be clear, he didn't ask for this).
After years of struggling with health issues, medical tests, and being in and out of the hospital Gabe Eddy was diagnosed with an auto immune white blood cell condition. This was causing major damage to organs like his heart and lungs and is slowly causing his heart to fail.
As a safety measure Gabe was required to wear a portable defibrillator until a few moths ago when they were able to have a ICD surgically implanted in his chest (this is not a pacemaker, it's a combo defibrillator and pacemaker - More Info) . However, Gabe's heart was already in such bad shape he was told he needs a heart transplant, and will most likely need another within 10 years of getting the 1st. He is currently on the wait list.
Obviously there is a ton of expenses associated with all of this. There are extensive amounts of prescriptions along with co-pays for dr visits (which are specialist which makes it cost substantially more than a normal Dr. co-pay), surgeries, and testing. Aside from this Gabe is having to miss work at times to make his appointments and tests.
Gabe and his family have always lived in a rural area, but this is no longer an option for them. He needs to be closer to his hospitals and doctors in case of an emergency situation because the transport time could be detrimental to him surviving any potential complications. So he and his family is going to be forced uproot and to move from their home they've lived in for the last 10 years.
Although Gabe would never ask, he and his family would be eternally grateful for anything that you can afford to do. 10k is the goal, but with no real set recovery from this their expenses could exceed this. So please help if you can, if we hit the goal great. If we exceed it, even better!
