Gabby's Nicaragua Trip

Donation protected
It’s that time of year again, when the mission trip prep gets a little more REAL!
As much as it breaks my heart to say this, I will not be going back to Honduras this summer. I have really felt called to go somewhere new, and do something that will push me beyond my comfort zone. I prayed about it for about a month and a half, and when we were on our way to Orlando this Christmas, I came across an organization called, “Adventures in Missions.” This organization takes ages from 14 to grown adults around the world to share the love of Christ, and they have trips that range from 2 weeks to 4 weeks. I was scrolling through the list and one stood out to me, it was a two-week trip to Nicaragua. I looked in to it a little bit more, and prayed about it for about a month before even mentioning it to my parents, just to make sure that this was what God wanted for me. At the beginning of this year, we started a new series at church called, “Uncommon”, and throughout the year we will be unfolding the meaning and learning what it takes to live a life that is uncommon for Christ. The first week of the series, my youth pastor was going through the main points of the message and said, “We were born common, but not to BE common”. This was step one of confirmation. Later that week, I came across a verse found in Proverbs 3, , “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” My own understanding would be going back to Honduras, where I will feel comfortable, especially because I would know everyone going on the trip, and I already know the translators that live there, but trusting in God would be going on this trip, where I will have no one familiar to me, in a completely new place, knowing that God hasn’t called me to familiarity, but that He has called me to be an outcast in a world full of people who are the same.

Because the trip is longer than Honduras, it also costs a little bit more.

If you can’t give financially, please consider praying with me, as I’m preparing myself to step into the calling God has placed on my life.

Thank you thank you thank you!

If you have any questions, or want to know more about the trip, feel free to email or message me!
