Gabby's Brain surgery

When Gabby and I were 16 years old at the beginning of our relationship we were under the impression that what she had been suffering from was anxiety. Until one night while I was over she had a Grand Mal seizure, I was shell shocked. It sent me through a loop, but I knew we could overcome this bump in the road. We talked to several doctors of which not one of them could tell us why this was happening. It was 3 years of her having to take medication on medication on medication. None of them helped. Her seizures caused many many other problems for her. They gave her Bells Palsey, constant back pain and made it really hard for her to sleep because she was scared to have another seizure. It was in the middle of 2017 we found yet another neurologist. He was different, he was actually concerned. Gabby had a MRI done and her new doctor noticed something in her left temporal lobe. From there he referred her to Harbor View Medical center for a week long seizure study. We got the results shortly after the visit. She was diagnosed with epilepsy, caused by mesial left temporal sclerosis. Brain surgery is our best option. This was concerning because the left side of the brain is where language functionality come from. Dangerous place to operate... Further testing showed that Gabby is in the very very small percentage of people where that is not the case. We have been fighting through this for years now. Tons of medical expenses piling up. Trips back and forth to Seattle and the stress of dealing with this and our everyday lives. With this surgery she could live a normal life again, she could take a bath by herself, she could drive, or go swimming with friends..  She goes into surgery on April 17, 2018..
