Support Remote Villages in NEPAL

GaauGhar NEPAL is a small Nepali NGO who is supporting remote villages in Far East Nepal in Health & Yoga, Education and Environmental Protection. We are officially registered in Nepal and work closely with the local Departments of Health and Edcuation. 

So far we have visited 1 village in Ilam District and 4 villages in the Panchthar District during our 2 projects.  

We completed almost 1000 blood sugar and pressure checks, donated blood glucose meters and testing supplies. medication, and educational material. We had over 40 blood tests done for a fasting reading with our mobile laboratory, and as we brought a doctor with us during the last project he counceled any suspects and patients. We visited further wards (one village has multiple wards, sometimes 3 hours walking distance to the local Health Post) to make the checks available for these villagers as well. Since we started we were able to create a lot of awareness regarding diabetes and hypertension. As a tool to manage any diseases or back pain we offered yoga classes with good participation and donated yoga mats - nevertheless we want to bring yoga teachers to the villages to create a better habit. 

We visited multiple schools since we started our support, and brought school supplies, new whiteboards for one school, established 3 libraries, and donated 3 new computers for one village. Additionally we brought sports equipment and clothes for the kids. To improve the students' English skills, we want to bring English volunteers to one school in the future.

Our efforts to change the mindset on handling their waste has not been successful, however we strongly believe that over time, this will change. 

What are our next projects?

1. EDUCATION:
- Extending the existing libraries in 3 villages
- Create more libraries
- Donate school bags and stationary to 90 students (class 1-5) in a school and sports equipment in the furthest ward in Memeng 
- Working closely with the headmasters of different schools on the proper usage of computers and waste management
- Installing a English volunteer in Prangbung

2. HEALTH:
- Offering more checks in other wards of the villages in Memeng and Prangbung
- Providing testing supplies for the Healthposts
- Donating a laboratory to Prangbung to serve over 10000 villagers of Prangbung, Memeng, Sidin, Ekteen.
- Running a dental camp in Memeng
- Installing a yoga volunteer
- Donating a laptop to the Healthpost in Memeng

3. OTHERS:
- Visiting 2 new remote villages to evaluate their needs
- Bringing Kids Clothing to the villages - especially the furthest wards
- Implementing Communal Committees for waste management
